The awards show returned last year after a three-year hiatus.

Grammy Award winning R&B singer Ne-Yo will perform at this year’s MTV Africa Music Awards, organizers said Wednesday.

The event, sponsored by the KwaZulu-Natal Province in association with Absolut Vodka and in partnership with The City of Durban, will take place at the Durban International Convention Centre on July 18.

Ne-Yo will perform songs from his sixth studio album Non Fiction. Discussing his first-ever performance in the South African city, he said: “I can’t wait for you to see what I have in store Durban! I hope you’re ready, because I am!”
